Get Notified When Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci, or Blender Finishes Rendering
You hit Export and leave the room. Forty minutes later you are still peeking at the queue. The job was not the problem. Nobody told you it finished. That is a real gap in post-production, not a missing “AI feature.”
The problem: the render is done; you are still babysitting
Editors, motion designers, YouTube shops, and 3D generalists run jobs that last from twenty minutes to overnight: Premiere exports, After Effects queues, Adobe Media Encoder batches, DaVinci Deliver, Blender frames, Topaz Video AI upscales. The machine can work unattended. The human still keeps a tab on the window because completion lives in that UI.
URL monitors (Visualping, Distill) cannot see Premiere. There is no public webpage. There is a desktop panel that says Complete—or Error—and that is the contract.
What native tools actually do (and where they fail)
Use vendor and OS signals first. Do not add another layer if a checkbox already pings your phone.
- After Effects “Notify when queue completes.” Real checkbox. After Adobe ended Creative Cloud mobile push, editors report it does not reach the phone. Forum workarounds now involve dropping a tiny file to Drive or Dropbox and firing Zapier email.
- Premiere / Media Encoder. The queue shows Encoding Complete. Phone push is not a product you can count on. Same computer toast is easy to miss if you walked away.
- PostWatch (macOS). A dedicated menu-bar app that watches logs and encoding status for several post apps and can push via Pushover. Fine if you are on a Mac and it supports your stack. It is not a Windows answer and it is not Blender-or-Topaz-by-default.
- DaVinci, Blender, Topaz Video AI. Progress UIs, weak or inconsistent OS notifications, especially when the window is unfocused.
When the export window is the source of truth
If you would know the job is done only by looking at the screen, watch the screen. Describe the end state, not a transition. UIs change by version—copy the words you actually see.

Add a second tracker for failure if that matters: “The queue shows Error” or “Render failed is visible.” Keep the status text uncovered while tracking.
How to set it up
- Start the export or render so the progress UI stays on screen.
- Open MonitorSensei, create a tracker, and paste a finished-state sentence like the examples above.
- Share the specific window (or the display that shows the queue). Entire screen works if you cannot pick a window cleanly.
- Start tracking. Walk away. The alert is the point.

Privacy and what this is not
Share only the render or export window when you can. MonitorSensei sees what you put in the capture prompt—not your footage on disk, not Premiere project files, not other apps. It is not employee monitoring and it is not a substitute for render-farm software that already emails on job complete.
If Deadline, Royal Render, or your studio pipeline already pings Slack, use that. Visual alerts are for the solo editor and the small shop whose “pipeline” is one desktop app.

Stop watching the progress bar
Queue the export. Describe what “done” looks like. Get pinged when the queue agrees. Keep PostWatch or Zapier if they already work; use a visual layer when the desktop UI is all you have.
