Find answers to common questions about MonitorSensei.
MonitorSensei is an AI-powered screen monitoring tool. It allows you to define a specific area of your screen and a visual state you're waiting for (e.g., a download to complete, a button to change color, text to appear). The AI then monitors that area and notifies you when the desired state is detected.
From your dashboard, you can click on 'Create New Tracker'. You'll be asked to give your tracker a name, a description of what you're looking for (e.g., 'download progress bar is full and says Complete'), and then proceed to the setup page.
When you set up a tracker, you provide a description of the target state. Our AI uses this description to analyze the visual information in the selected screen area. It looks for changes related to your description, such as text content, colors, and the presence or absence of elements.
On the tracker setup page, you'll first need to start screen capture. Once your screen is being shared, click 'Take Screenshot'. Then, click 'Select Area to Track'. You can then click and drag on the screenshot to draw a box around the exact portion of the screen you want MonitorSensei to watch.
When MonitorSensei detects that the monitored area has reached the state you described, it will mark the tracker as 'complete'. You will receive a notification (if enabled), and a screenshot of the detected state will be saved, which you can view from the tracker details page.
Notifications are currently managed through your browser. Ensure you have granted notification permissions for MonitorSensei in your browser settings. We plan to expand notification options in the future.
Yes, on the 'View Tracker' page for each specific tracker, you can see a history of status updates, including when it was started, any intermediate analysis (if applicable), and when it was marked as complete. If a screenshot was taken upon completion, a link to view it will also be available there.
MonitorSensei works by analyzing the pixels on your screen. To do this, it needs permission to capture your screen content. This permission is typically requested by your browser when you first start a screen capture session. We only capture content when you explicitly start a tracker and only for the selected screen or window.
AI is constantly improving, but it's not perfect. If you find that the AI is not detecting changes as expected, try rephrasing your AI description to be more specific or simpler. For example, instead of 'the file has finished downloading,' you could try 'the progress bar is green and the text says 100%'. If issues persist, please contact our support.
To optimize performance and avoid excessive API calls, the AI checks the selected screen area at intervals. It first checks if the image in the area has changed visually. If it has, and at least 5 seconds have passed since the last AI analysis, a new analysis is performed.
No. The screen capture and AI analysis currently happen within your browser. If you close the tab where MonitorSensei is running the active tracker, or close your browser, the tracking will stop.
With MonitorSensei's premium subscription, you can create unlimited trackers to monitor any changes across multiple websites. During your 7-day free trial, you have full access to all premium features, including the ability to create as many trackers as you need.
When a tracker completes, a screenshot of the monitored area is taken. This screenshot is uploaded to secure cloud storage (Supabase Storage). You can view these screenshots from the tracker details page. Please review our Privacy Policy for more detailed information on data handling.
Your trackers and associated data, including screenshots, are private to your account. They are not shared with other users.
